Co-managed IT

Your IT Person, Properly Backed

Co-managed IT doesn’t replace the person who knows your systems. It gives them everything they’ve been missing.

The situation

What One-Person IT Looks Like

They know every system, every workaround, and every password, and they’re usually excellent at the job. They’re also permanently on call, can’t take a real vacation, have nobody to think a hard problem through with, and spend the whole week on tickets instead of the projects that would stop the tickets from happening. It works until they’re sick, on leave, or gone. Co-managed IT keeps that person and removes the single point of failure they represent.

Why this matters

What Your IT Person Gets

We design the arrangement with your IT person rather than around them, which is why it tends to last.

Coverage That Holds

A queue that doesn’t pile up during a vacation, and weekend and after-hours calls covered, so your IT person can actually be off.

A Bench to Ask

Engineers across four markets who’ve almost certainly seen the unfamiliar thing at least once before.

Time to Work Ahead

Someone who isn’t permanently reacting can finally fix the causes instead of the symptoms.

One Shared Queue

Your IT person works inside our ticketing system beside our team, so there’s one view of the work.

A Line You Draw

Overflow and after-hours only, or security and projects, or anything between. It moves when your business does.

Industries served

Where We See This Most

The pattern shows up in firms that grow past their IT setup without ever hiring a second person.

Accounting

Seasonal load that triples in spring, and a compliance requirement one person can’t own alone.

Legal

Confidentiality obligations that make coverage gaps a risk question rather than a convenience one.

Manufacturing

Plant floor systems nobody else understands, and an IT lead who can’t be in two buildings.

Construction

Sites that come and go, connectivity that has to follow, and an office team of one.

Nonprofits

A capable generalist wearing the IT hat along with four others, usually with no budget line.

Professional Services

Growth that outpaces the setup, where nobody has time to step back and plan.

The difference

How We Get Started

Five steps, usually across six to eight weeks, and your IT person is in every one.

1. We Meet Your IT Person

Not their manager, them. The first session is about what their week actually looks like, what keeps breaking, what they never get to, and what they’d fix first with more hands. Most of what decides whether this works gets settled here, because an arrangement designed over somebody’s head gets quietly worked around within a month.

2. We Document What Exists

Almost no business has current documentation, and the one person who doesn’t need it is the one with everything in their head. We map systems, accounts, vendors, licenses, and the undocumented workarounds. That record is the deliverable that matters most if that person is ever unavailable, and it’s yours regardless of what happens next.

3. You Draw the Split

We propose a division of the work and you change it. Common starting points are after-hours and overflow, or security and projects while the daily relationship stays in-house. The split gets written down so nobody’s guessing about who owns what, and we revisit it whenever the business changes shape.

4. We Join the Same Queue

Your IT person works in our ticketing system alongside our team, so there’s one view of the work rather than two organizations reporting different numbers to each other. Escalation into the wider group is built into that queue, so an unfamiliar problem reaches someone who’s seen it without anybody having to ask a favor.

5. The Baseline Goes Underneath

Once the working relationship is steady, we apply the security baseline at the pace of your replacement cycle. Identity, endpoints, email, patching, backup, and tested recovery each move to a defined state. Your IT person keeps authority over how it lands in your environment, because they know things about it that we don’t.
